Heat Treated Surfaces and Scratches
Image result for scratched glass
Due to the tempering process, heat-treated glass can have minuscule fragments of glass (often referred to as 'glass fines') deposited on the surface.  These are harmless deposits that don't affect strength or aesthetics, but can be dislodged if inappropriate glass cleaning is employed.  Many window cleaners try to use metal scrapers and long razor blades to clean glass which result in dislodging of the glass fines and then scratching the glass surface.  Note that RAZOR BLADES AND METAL SCRAPERS OF ANY SORT ARE NOT RECOMMENDED CLEANING TOOLS by Trulite nor the glass industry.   For more information see Trulite Technical Bulletin  HT-004.
